Class of 2013 flocks to UNCW
The freshmen who filled Trask Coliseum Monday, Aug. 17, may come from varied backgrounds and interest, but they were all united in a sea of teal at the 2009 UNCW Convocation.

New compact to encourage campus wide respect
A new cross-campus initiative, the Seahawk Respect Compact, encourages the UNCW community to use respectful dialogue in the classroom as well as around campus.
The compact was developed after a Campus Climate Survey in 2006, which showed that the campus could benefit from an affirmation of the campus' values.…

Correction
The article, "Garden planted in memory of departed UNCW students, staff and faculty," which ran in the June 25, 2009 edition of The Seahawk incorrectly stated the garden's purpose.
The garden was a gift from the senior class of 2001. The engraved stones contain names of individuals, groups and companies who donated money for the garden.…
