Issue date: 9/28/06 Section: Lifestyles
A domesticated grizzly bear teams up with a fast-talking mule deer to better their odds for survival this hunting season. When Boog, the grizzly bear (Martin Lawrence), realizes he has been deserted days before open hunting season starts, he is at a loss for what to do. Elliot (Ashton Kutcher) teams up with the tame bear and forms an unlikely friendship.
However, with the hunting season fast approaching, the duo realizes that they have to take a stand against the hunters and reclaim the forest as theirs. They rally the other woodland inhabitants to form a makeshift army and help turn the tables on the huntsmen.
"Open Season" is an animated comedy/adventure film suitable for families. It is rated PG and opens Sept. 29.
