Just the opposite, actually -- that was two years worth of frustration coming out on the field, proof of how far the Hurricanes have slipped since one bad pass interference call in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Canes are often written off as arrogant thugs, but Saturday proved that they are not; Miami wide receiver James Bryant felt the need to show up the tiny program just across town with a touchdown celebration in the third quarter.
Miami has five national championships; FIU has been in Division I for two years.
Well-coached programs would just tell the other team to look at the scoreboard and know their place. Miami felt the need to clear the benches, stomp FIU players on the ground.
As if Miami didn't have superior athletes and a larger team already, they needed to gang up on FIU players and use weapons.

Some victory guys, winning a fight over a Sun Belt team that has been in Division I for two years. Quarterback Kyle Wright had plenty of swagger after the game was over, saying, "It's something they started, and our guys finished it. ... They're going home with a 35-0 loss and they're 0-7."
In shots of the melee, Wright wasn't in the picture once. In all, eight Miami players are suspended for their trip to Duke on Saturday. They embarrassed themselves enough with their actions last week, but if all is right in the world, Miami's program will hit rock bottom with a loss to the Blue Devils.
