Another year filled with school spirit has gone by, and it's time to celebrate. Homecoming is here, and this week, a number of events have been held each day to spread "Teal Fever" across campus.

Kaitlin Oyler, ACE president, oversaw the scheduling of this year's homecoming events.

"ACE sponsors all of the homecoming programs that UNCW has during the week," Oyler said. "It is our sole responsibility to plan, promote and run all of the events.  We try to get a variety of entertainment for students to enjoy so that they have a lot to look forward to in the week."

Monday, students had the opportunity for a chance to meet the "Teal Police." Patrolling the Student Fisher Center, the "Teal Police" made sure everyone kicked off the week with school spirit. Homecoming kick-off at Wagoner Dining Hall was later that evening, where an assortment of foods was offered.

Tuesday presented activities such as pin the tail (feather) on the Seahawk at the Campus Commons Amphitheatre. Comedian Dan Adhoot came that night for some comic relief. Wednesday held more spirit-filled events such as the hot chocolate break in the Commons Amphitheatre and Seahawk Bingo at Sammy's Caribbean Café that night.

Thursday, Feb. 8 features free massages and pizza at the Masonboro Island Room from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a homecoming concert later in the evening with Straylight Run and Annuals scheduled to perform. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. in the Warwick Center Ballroom.

Friday there will be a parade that will go from the Student Recreational Center parking lot to Trask Coliseum, beginning at 2 p.m. Following that there will be a Step Show in Kenan Auditorium starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday is filled with a plethora of events including the 5k Homecoming Run at the Student Recreational Center and the pre-game rally outside of Trask Coliseum. Saturday night is the Homecoming game against William & Mary, and during halftime, the crowning of the homecoming king and queen will be announced.

"I feel that the best thing about homecoming is seeing our students come together and show their Seahawk pride, especially on the day of the homecoming game," Oyler said. "School spirit is something we are always trying to improve on campus, and I think this week really helps get students excited."
