What's Hot and What's... Not.

With all the stress of late night study sessions, 8 a.m. classes and lengthy term papers, a student's sense of fashion is typically one of the first things to go after the first weeks of college.  Although sweatshirts and pajama pants tend to be an easy go-to when rolling out of bed 10 minutes before class, that does not mean that it's fashionably acceptable.

What's Hot:  School spirit

UNCW paraphernalia is part of the college experience.  Teal Tuesdays, basketball games, and other sporting events are all great chances to show your UNCW pride on campus.

What's Not: Wearing the same UNCW sweatshirt every day

I understand that it is warm and comfy and you spent $50 bucks on it so you want to get your money's worth, but quite frankly, it looks like you're wearing the same thing every day when you just throw on the same sweatshirt on your way out the door.

What's Hot: A dress with leggings

It is a fashion trend that has been around for the past few years and it does not look like it is going away any time soon.  Pairing a dress with leggings adds an extra layer for warmth in the fall and winter months and is an easy way to still look cute and fashionable.

What's Not: Leggings with a shirt

Leggings are not pants-I do not know how else to say it.  A shirt is considered a shirt because it is too short to be worn alone, so why you would ever wear semi-see-through spandex and think that it is okay is beyond me.  This is not the 80s (thank goodness). The only exception I would allot for this fashion faux pas is if you are working out at the gym in leggings, in which case I would still say that you should go home immediately afterwards and change clothes.  Wearing sweaty workout clothes all day is another definite fashion no-no.

What's Hot: Peter Pan boots

Boots are a cute and trendy way to spruce up basic jeans and to pair with a skirt or a dress.  They keep your feet warmer than flats when it's cold and they are available in many styles, colors and price ranges.  It is a definite staple for any college female's closet.
