10 students hosted Revival 2010 in UNCW's Burney Center Feb. 19. The purpose of the event was to gather all Christian organizations and ministries on campus under one building. About 400 people attended the event. Christians and non-Christians listened to worship music, prayer and a message delivered by a fellow student.

"What would it look like if God radically changed the campus of UNCW?" asked sophomore Dylan Dodson, as he began the night as the evening's speaker.

"Revival 2010 is an event for Christian believers to come and be inspired to see God move on the campus of UNCW," said sophomore Caleb Lewis, one of the event coordinators.

The night began with a six-piece band leading the crowd in songs. Wes Rose was the band's lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player. Songs such as "Let Our God Arise" by Chris Tomlin and "Everything Glorious" by David Crowder were played.

Sophomore Chelsey Glover, spokesperson for the night, informed the crowd on what to expect with the event.

"This night is focused on glorifying God through worship, prayer and a scripture message," said Glover. "We, as fellow students, want to revive the campus and bring God to the heart of it."

"Over the last month and a half, I and other fellow students met twice a week for prayer and planning," said Dodson. "We then surveyed 300 students on the campus. We asked them three basic questions: Are you a Christian? On a scale of 1 to 10, how serious are you about your faith? And, do you believe Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven?"

"The answers just simply amazed me," Dodson said. "Of the 300 hundred people surveyed, 217 said they were Christians, which is about 73 percent. Then, when asked the second question, 'How serious are you about your faith on a scale of 1-10?' the average was 5.8. The final question is what hit me hard. When asked 'Do you believe Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven?' about 50 percent of those 300 people said yes."
